Several prominent competitors graced the mats, including esteemed ADCC veteran Vagner Rocha, a bronze and silver medalist at the prestigious championship.
He emerged victorious in the under 91kg division, demonstrating his enduring prowess. Beyond Rocha, other decorated grapplers showcased their skills, with John Combs clinching gold in the highly competitive 83kg division and Gianni Grippo securing silver in the 70kg category, narrowly falling to Deandre Corbe in the final.
The Corbe brothers displayed remarkable talent, with Deandre securing gold in the under 76kg division and Gavin mirroring his success in the under 76kg category. Estevan Martinez further added to the list of champions, achieving victory in the under 60kg division. Notably, the women’s divisions witnessed equally impressive displays of skill, with notable representatives from New Wave Jiu-Jitsu making their mark.
Helena Crevar and Trinity Pun secured gold medals in the under 70kg and under 60kg divisions respectively, while other talented female grapplers dominated their respective categories. Cindy Ung reigned supreme in the under 55kg division, while Bridget McEliece achieved the remarkable feat of claiming double gold in the absolute and over 70kg divisions.
